A BMW M5 E34 with exceptionally low mileage is one of those cars that no longer needs much explanation. Regardless of generation, the M5 badge is legendary, but the E34 occupies a very special place in BMW history — and today it represents something even more important: a closing window of opportunity for collectors and investors.

What makes this particular example stand out is not just the condition, but the remarkably low mileage, which is becoming increasingly rare for E34 M5s. At this point, originality and preservation matter far more than modifications, and while the AC Schnitzer wheels are a nice period-correct touch, they are almost secondary here. The real value lies in the car itself.

The E34 M5 is a hand-built, naturally aspirated, analogue super saloon from a time when BMW Motorsport was still deeply involved in every detail of the car. No turbochargers, no artificial sound, no software-driven personality — just engineering, balance and character. This is precisely why modern M5s, impressive as they are, still need time before they gain true collector status.

It’s also important to remember that the E34 M5 already went through its price bottom. Around ten years ago, these cars could be bought for almost nothing compared to today’s values. They were overshadowed first by the E39 and later by the E60, which pushed E34 prices to an all-time low. That phase is long gone.

Today, the market is clearly moving in the opposite direction. Clean, low-mileage E34 M5s are becoming genuine rarities, and demand is steadily increasing while supply continues to shrink. This is the classic recipe for long-term appreciation.

Realistically, this is not a car you buy to flip next month. It’s a long-term hold, but one with strong fundamentals. Annual value growth of 10–15% year-on-year is not unrealistic for the right example, especially one with low mileage, originality, and proper documentation.
In short:
-
The model is already a proven classic
-
The depreciation phase is long behind it
-
Scarcity will only increase
-
Demand will not disappear
If you have the capital and you’re looking for a serious automotive investment, this is exactly the kind of car to consider. The days of “cheap” E34 M5s are over — and they are not coming back.
