Alfa Romeo has set a date for one of its most important design statements in years. On 12 October 2026, at the Paris Motor Show, the brand will unveil a new concept car described as a manifesto for its future. The car will remain on display at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles through 18 October.

The language Alfa is using matters. This is not being presented as a preview of one trim level or a simple styling exercise. Alfa says the concept is meant to express its future vision around three ideas: Italian craftsmanship, sportiness and the colour red. More importantly, the company is still framing the driver-car relationship as the centre of the brand rather than treating design and technology as ends in themselves.

Why this concept matters

Alfa Romeo is at a point where it has to modernise without sanding away the character that gives the badge value. The Junior has expanded the line-up, the Tonale has broadened the customer base, and the 33 Stradale has shown what Alfa can still do when emotion comes first. A future-facing concept can connect those two extremes: scalable modern products on one side and genuine desirability on the other.

The 33 Stradale image used here is deliberate context rather than a picture of the still-unrevealed Paris concept. It shows the design confidence Alfa has recently demonstrated at the top end of the brand. The real question for Paris is whether that confidence will migrate into the next generation of cars people can actually buy.

What to watch on October 12

Alfa has not yet published technical details, dimensions or a production plan for the concept. That makes three things especially important at the reveal: proportion, powertrain philosophy and how much of the design language is intended to reach future production models. If the concept really is the manifesto Alfa says it is, those answers will matter more than a headline horsepower figure.

For enthusiasts, there is another reason to care. Alfa Romeo has spent much of its history proving that practical cars can still feel emotionally engineered. Paris will show whether the company believes that idea has a place in the next decade.
