The BRABUS Bodo Spider is, without a doubt, a fucking masterpiece.
1,000 hp, incredible proportions, beautiful flowing lines and that unmistakable sense of luxury. It’s the kind of car that doesn’t need to prove anything.
And that’s exactly where my problem starts.
If you design a car around long, flowing lines and smooth transitions, without sharp breaks in the bodywork, then why the hell do you start messing around so much with the front grille?
The square exhausts, on the other hand, I actually like. They create some contrast and give the rear a bit more character without completely destroying the shape.
But then you have the reflectors in the lower rear spoiler and a whole collection of additional details that, in my opinion, simply interrupt the flow of the design.
It starts to look like a car that has been modified rather than a car that has been carefully finished.
And yes, I know — this is BRABUS. Aggressive modifications, carbon, bigger wheels, more power, more everything. That's what they've always done.
But with the Bodo Spider, I would have gone in a slightly different direction.
I would have smoothed it out.
Removed some of the unnecessary details. Let the body lines breathe. And then those wheels would probably make an even bigger impression.
Because sometimes you don't need another spoiler, another vent or another carbon detail.
You just need to know when to stop.
And in my opinion, BRABUS didn't quite know when to stop with this one.
Still spectacular.
Just… too many little fucking things.
