Lamborghini Temerario Polizia: Italy’s 920 CV Supercar Goes on Duty

Lamborghini Temerario Polizia presented for the Italian State Police

Lamborghini has handed the Italian State Police one of the most dramatic emergency vehicles in the world: a new Temerario Polizia.

The car continues a relationship that began in 2004 with the Gallardo and later included the Gallardo LP 560-4, Huracán and Urus Performante. This is not simply a promotional show car. Lamborghini says the police cars have been used for urgent organ and medical-supply transport, as well as road-safety work.

920 CV in public service

The Temerario combines a new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors for a total output of 920 CV. In normal customer form it is already one of Lamborghini’s most technically ambitious cars; in police specification it gains the equipment and livery required for emergency work.

According to Lamborghini, the collaboration with the State Police has supported more than 200 organ-transport missions over the past two decades. The cars have also appeared at more than 1,500 road-safety education events.

More than a publicity stunt

There is obviously theatre in seeing a Lamborghini wearing blue-and-white Polizia graphics, but the partnership works because the car’s speed has a practical use case. When a medical delivery has to move quickly over long distances, performance and stability become tools rather than entertainment.

The new Temerario also represents a generational shift. The naturally aspirated V10 era of the Huracán is over; the replacement uses a smaller turbocharged engine and electrification to deliver a much larger performance envelope. Putting the new car into this long-running police programme is a symbolic handover from one Lamborghini era to the next.

Autoniusy view: special-purpose Lamborghinis have always created memorable stories, but the Polizia cars are unusual because their history is tied to real missions. That gives this Temerario a cultural role beyond being another limited or ceremonial edition.
